Airplane Kindergarten

How awesome is this kindergarten classroom?  I feel like it’s every kid’s dream come true.  A clever way to get kids more excited about kindergarten, yes?  In attempt to do just that, a clever headmaster in Georgia (the country, not the state) purchased a retired plane and transformed it into this adorable classroom. Who else is a little jealous?  You can see the article about this on Inhabitots. All images …continue…

Crib Update

(okay, so you can’t really see the crib here, but I couldn’t pass up this picture of Eleanor being a total nut) I just thought I’d check in and let everyone know how our $69.99 Ikea crib is holding up.  In one word, it’s AWESOME.  We decided on the Ikea Sniglar crib for a few reasons, the main one being price.  We also liked the clean, simple look and the …continue…

My Favorite Costumes

Well, I know it’s a little late for this to help anyone out for Halloween this year, but in browsing the web I have come across a few kids costume ideas that are just to cute not to pass on. First up, Carl from Up.  I haven’t even seen the movie, but I am familiar with the character and ohmygosh, I die of cute overload seeing this little guy’s costume.  …continue…

The Thrilling Topic of…Baby Wipes.

Well, even more specifically, this is a post about baby wipes holders. I feel like the topic baby wipes on their own is a very daunting task. So many brands! So many variations (unscented, sensitive skin (shouldn’t those be one and the same?), ultra sensitive, thick, natural, flushable, eco, chlorine free, scented…you get the picture)! And then cloth wipes! It gives me anxiety just to think of a task of …continue…

Honestly about the Honest Company

We were not paid or perked by The Honest Company to write this review–I came across this company, decided to try some of their products and then write about them. (Facebook ad for The Honest Company) So a few months ago, I saw a little ad on the side of Facebook for The Honest Company.  Normally I do not click on these, but I vaguely remembered hearing of their diapers, …continue…

Pumpkin Carving Free Download!

Well, it’s been a while since I have done much in the Halloween department but I realize now as a mom that there will be many a Halloween festivity in my future.  I do love my holidays, and I never frown at an occasion for celebration.  The other night while browsing Twitter, Esther of Buy Modern Baby mentioned she was looking for a pumpkin carving party invitation, and it got …continue…

Baby Transport

(E on a borrowed car) Living in the city, I am mostly out with baby sans car.  Because of this, I declined on the baby bucket/infant car seat so our options when out and about are stroller and baby wearing/carrying.  Here is what we have found works best: For 0-6 weeks (ish): the Moby wrap.  I love the Moby for the coziness.  It allowed Eleanor to maintain her most comfortable …continue…

Eleanor’s Favorite Toys

Eleanor (9 months) is pretty easily entertained by any new object that she encounters, but often she quickly seems to tire of them.  I have compiled a list of items that seem to be her go-to favorites (at least for the last few months): 1) Käthe Kruz Rainbow Baby Grabbing Ring Doll This is actually a hand-me-down from Eleanor’s cousin, and it has proven to be a great toy for …continue…

Flat Zoo

How sweet is this little “flat zoo” by Yang:Ripol?  Super compact, I can see this would be a great toy for times on-the-go.  This very likely could fall into the category of “toys that mom and dad like better than baby,” but it would look awfully cute just sitting on a shelf if your kid won’t play with it (or if it’s too fragile for him or her). The pieces …continue…
