Catching Up

Well well well.  Look at this–a blog post!  From Brieanne!  Can you believe it?  Life has been a whirlwind with a whole lot of nothing in particular, but it has kept me busy.  That whole part time work/full time stay-at-home mom thing finally caught up to me.  This, however, is neither here nor there.  What is important is we are all here and healthy, just needed a bit of a …continue…

National Adoption Month

The other day we posted about some friends from college who are adopting a sweet 5 year old girl from Eastern Europe.  After a brief discussion and in honor of National Adoption month, Erica and I have decided that we will donate 15% of our proceeds for the month of November to help bring Ana home to these loving and generous people.  Will you help us help the Grummers meet …continue…

A Heart for Ana

This is a different type of post from our normal ones at Chalk + Dot, but it is kid related so I felt compelled to post.  Some friends from college (pretty incredible people) have three beautiful girls and are currently in the process of opening their hearts and home to a 4th little girl from Eastern Europe named Ana. Today they are being featured on  blog called Give1Save1 to help …continue…

Tell Us What You Think (please)!

Well, we’re working on a few things behind-the-scenes at chalk + dot.  We know there have been a lot of crickets around here, but we want to change that!  We’re hoping to reveal our “news” on our blog birthday next month, and in the meantime we’d love to hear from you readers out there! Now, you readers tend to be pretty quiet, but we have blog stats and we know …continue…

Affordable Portraits with Chalk + Dot!

As moms ourselves, Erica and I feel strongly that it shouldn’t break the bank to have high quality portraits of your growing family.  Because of this, we are hosting our first mini portrait session Saturday!  This Saturday, July 28 Erica and I will be spending our day at Heather Farms in Walnut Creek photographing YOU. For $90, you will get a 45 minute session with 2 photographers with 10 complimentary …continue…

Six Months!

I can’t believe my baby girl is already 6 months old!  It is insane how quickly the time flies.  One minute you have a squishy little baby loaf; the next minute you have a babbling, smiling, rolling little human bean! These days Eleanor really enjoys rolling around and grabbing her feet.  She can sit up and also enjoys that from time to time, but she’s still a little wobbly so …continue…

New Etsy Designs – Baby Shower

It’s been semi-quiet here on the blog, but that is because we’ve been working on new birthday invitations and baby shower invitations for our Etsy shop.  First up, here are some of our new baby shower invitations: What do you think?  Is there a baby shower theme you would love to see?  Let us know!  We’re always looking for new ideas.

It’s probably out with the trash

Things go missing.  Lots of things.  Jackson is down to one bottle.  One.  I have an easier time keeping track of just this one, because I know it is precious.  If it wanders off bedtime will be a disaster.  But because I don’t want to buy more bottles just to wean him off of them in a few months.  I’m taking these missing bottles to be a self weaning tactic …continue…

Get in on March Madness (and feel good about it)

I know that I am not the type to run.  I will hike, I will ski, I will walk, I will walk fast, but running is reserved for if Jackson is running into the street, or maybe if I’m late to the Nordstrom sale or something. (Image of happy people who appear to have fun running from here) I just don’t like running.  I try it, I wish I liked …continue…

A weekend away [via instagram]

Before we started a family, we were up in Tahoe skiing pretty much 3 weekends out of every month. We made the 3.5 hour drive up on Friday night or early Saturday morning and then back again on Sunday afternoon after two full days of skiing. Work week, then back to Tahoe. Now it’s a bit more of an ordeal. We can’t as easily couch surf with a teething 1 …continue…

Baby #2?

No, no, this isn’t an announcement about me being pregnant.  It’s more of a question for you all.  I’m starting to wonder why people have another baby?  I’m starting to believe that it must be a mistake in most cases.  Could they really forget how much work the first year was?  Their first is finally becoming a pretty cool individual, almost a legitimate part of society.  And then they want …continue…
