Well, even more specifically, this is a post about baby wipes holders. I feel like the topic baby wipes on their own is a very daunting task. So many brands! So many variations (unscented, sensitive skin (shouldn’t those be one and the same?), ultra sensitive, thick, natural, flushable, eco, chlorine free, scented…you get the picture)! And then cloth wipes! It gives me anxiety just to think of a task of comparing all these. We just started with some, chose some others based on recommendation, and have gone from there, switching it up if something isn’t working well or if we run out and need to buy some in a pinch.

So back to the topic at hand, baby wipes storage. Initially we had a plastic refillable tub that came “free” with one of our wipes packages. This worked fine-ish. When you got lower on wipes, they’d constantly fall back in the tub (and you’d have to dig them out) which was annoying and then one day Brandon broke the little plastic closer piece which meant bye bye wipes holder (the wipes would dry out). After that I briefly searched for a more permanent solution and didn’t come up with much. For the past 6 months or so we’ve just used the wipes out of their packaging. It’s fine…until you’re towards the end. There you are, holding a squirming baby down with one hand and the other hand is flailing trying to get a wipe out. Inevitably I either a) end up with a much larger chunk as the rest of the wipes come out with the one I want or b) end up with a single wipe (when I probably needed more) while the package goes flying across the room. Not fun.

Enter the OXO Perfect Pull Wipes Dispenser AKA my life saver. According to OXO’s website, it’s new so maybe I wasn’t that inept in my initial searches. It’s not cheap ($20), but I figure that for the amount of years I am likely to be changing diapers (Eleanor + future children), it will be worth it. You could also use this to store cloth/reusable wipes if you wanted to. It has a weighted plate that you put over the wipes, so no matter how many wipes are left, they are easy to grab. I’ve only had it a few days, but already I’m beyond pleased with it. It’s the little things…
