I am a coffee drinker. Oh, I romanticize about how nice it would be to be a tea drinker, but the reality is I’m just not one. Tea is reserved for when I am sick or a particularly chilly winter day when I just want something to warm me up from the inside. While pregnant I became much more of a tea drinker (I generally tried to avoid caffeine) and right after Eleanor was born I stayed away from coffee for a bit and then one day…I caved, and I haven’t turned back. I still usually drink decaf or half-caf, and I only drink one cup a day.
Anyway, I digress. This post was all spurred by rainy weather + a nip of fall in the air + a moment of inspiration. I love adding a dash of cinnamon to my coffee in the fall/winter to add an extra element of cozy tastiness, but it bugs me how it sort of floats on the top and doesn’t always get distributed throughout my delicious beverage. Then the other day I thought “well, what if I add the cinnamon to the coffee grounds instead of the already-brewed coffee?” Voila! It worked like a charm.
So, next time you’re indulging in your favorite cup of joe at home, add a sprinkle of cinnamon to the grounds and let me know what you think!

brilliant! why have i not thought about this before?! this is why i love you =)
This almost makes me want to send you some coffee we got from a farmer in Colombia that Bill roasted himself last weekend….. almost! Gonna try the cinnamon thing.
Genius! What a great idea! Doing this tomorrow! (I’ve already brewed my cupfuls for today….luckily Ian seems to tolerate my coffee habit just fine…:/ )
