Maternity Dresses

purple dress and mint dress from etsy We haven’t talked maternity in awhile, but I was just realizing that we were on our babymoon to Maui this time two years ago and after looking at photos I was getting nostalgic for my comfy, stretchy maternity clothes. I love dresses for maternity, but I never found any that fit me very well, i.e. I could still wear a regular bra with. …continue…

Flat Zoo

How sweet is this little “flat zoo” by Yang:Ripol?  Super compact, I can see this would be a great toy for times on-the-go.  This very likely could fall into the category of “toys that mom and dad like better than baby,” but it would look awfully cute just sitting on a shelf if your kid won’t play with it (or if it’s too fragile for him or her). The pieces …continue…

Sweet Night Light

Yesterday Erica posted a bit about her life-saving Ikea night light, and it reminded me I hadn’t written about our night light purchase recently.  A few weeks ago, Brandon and I went to the Renegade Craft Fair here in San Francisco.  We were strolling around the packed venue (also trying to navigate a stroller–didn’t think that one through) and eventually we stumbled upon this very sweet night light by Owly …continue…

Ikea is practical, Ikea is fun

I have to say, Ikea is pretty amazing.  I mean I usually come to despise any major furniture I buy there (except our couch which we just departed with and I’m still a little sad after 9 years together.)  But they do drive a good bargain.  Jackson is in this stage where he likes to go potty, but I don’t really feel like springing $25 for a plastic potty.  So …continue…

Travel with Baby

So, generally I’m not the worrying type when it comes to toting Eleanor around.  We go out and about all the time in all sorts of places no sweat.  Our approaching trip, however (which will be Eleanor’s first plane ride), does have me a little a little stressed, although it may not be for the reasons you might think.  Right now I’m not too worried about how she’ll do on …continue…

Keep Your Phone Safe

So, Eleanor is not quite old enough to be enthralled by my phone; well, let me put it this way–I don’t introduce her to my phone enough to be interested.  I don’t show her games or things on it.  Right now her interest in my phone consists only of holding it and sticking it in her mouth, which only happens when she is sitting on a soft surface like my …continue…

Meals

As a new mom, mealtimes can be a little spotty.  I have to confess when my husband first went back to work I frequently skipped lunch. Bad idea (sleep deprivation + nursing + no lunch = zapped energy and high emotions).  Since then I have gotten much better, making sure I get a lunchtime meal in.  This, however, has forced me to get creative.  When working, I always went out …continue…

Portraits: Aislin + Maeve

First up from our family portrait day we have Aislin and Maeve, adorable sisters.  Aislin (pronounced Ash-lyn) is 2 and Maeve will be one in October. I love their dark hair and contrasting beautiful blue eyes. Aren’t they gorgeous? We had a good laugh while Aislin kept running off and Maeve kept crawling off, trying to chase after her sister. Their mom kept apologizing, but Erica and I just laughed–Erica …continue…

Choo, Choo for your iPad

I’m not sure what everyone else’s boys are into . . . but mine is certainly into trains.  And when I say train, I most certainly mean of the Choo, Choo variety.  Jackson recently realized that my computer has an endless supply of steam train videos, via you tube.  And he has also figured out how to keep them playing on repeat and keep the fullscreen going.    I turned …continue…
