Doesn’t this look like somewhere you could spend a lot of time? It’s bright, and the color palette is very inviting. The mix of textures, prints, and colors creates a cozy nursery without screaming ‘this is for a baby!’ or ‘a girl lives here!’. It’s grown up, but with that touch of whimsy and comfort that just feels perfect. Courtney is the mom of a very precious baby girl named Piper Jane. She created quite the space for her daughter to grow into.

The book shelves were made by Courtney’s husband with some lumber and trim from Lowes. The crib is one of my favorites. It’s a classic shape with an updated feel. The giraffe was a craigslist find! I need to get on craigslist more regularly, there are so many things to find there!
The pillows were repurposed from around the house. I love when parents use artwork, pillows, and accessories they already have. It gives the whole nursery a more collected feel and creates a place that feels like you. Why be in an all pink frilly room if that’s not your style? And if it is . . . go for it!
The yellow dresser is one of my favorite items. It was a free curbside find that they refinished and painted.
The chalkboard wall will be fun for many years of drawing and play time. And, bonus, it’s magnetic. The rocker is an ikea armchair that they turned into a glider by attaching a rocker base from another chair.
I’m obsessed with baskets for all things baby. So easy to clean up, just throw it in a bin.
The globe pillow was handmade by Courtney. I think she should be selling these! They are adorable.

‘Honey Do’/DIY Projects:
Book Shelves- custom made with lumber and trim from Lowe’s. You can buy similar items from West Elm, or even Ikea, but if you know a handy man (or woman), making your own isn’t that hard, and is much cheaper.
Glider: My husband turned it into a rocker/glider using an old recliner base from a craigslist chair. This is a good tutorial on how to make your own:
Pelmet boxes following this tutorial.
Crib skirt similar to this method.
Mobile: Handmade using a photo “hanger”. Inspired by this mobile.
Rug: Assembled 6 small rugs with rug tape. So easy, and ended up costing the same as a regular room-sized rug.
That’s quite a list. I love the collected feel of the items. And it truly is collected, many of the items were found in other rooms around the house. And any item that is handmade or customized by you will always have a special place in the nursery.
So what do you think? Do you love it as much as I do?

This is an awesome nursery that Piper Jane can love and completely grow into for many years! I love that it shows how fantastic gray walls can be…such a wonderful neutral color. And I adore the magnetic chalkboard wall!
Aw, yay! Thanks so much for the feature…Piper Jane is enjoying her nursery right now. And by enjoying, I mean crying when she’s supposed to be napping!
