Letting the Cat out of the Bag

As some of you may have guessed, I am happy to announce that my wonderful husband and I are expecting a little bundle of joy in late November!  It’s been really really really tough to blog about baby things without giving anything away, so it’s a huge relief to have it out there!  It’s also extremely nerve-wracking to have it out there (the worry-wart in me has been paranoid about having it out there if something goes wrong) but overall I’m excited to share with everyone.

Now for answers to the questions I usually get when people find out:
1. Have you been sick?  How have you felt?

No!  Not at all, actually.  I’ve been extremely fortunate (apparently I take after my mom) and haven’t been sick.  I had one morning of nausea because I got overheated in the shower, but that was it.

As far as how I’ve felt, again I’ve been extremely fortunate.  My biggest “symptoms” were my 2:45pm sleepies, where I’d get really tired (as in almost fall asleep at my desk) at 2:45 on the nose every day.  Also, I had insomnia.  Literally, I’d wake up constantly, couldn’t fall asleep, and woke up early every day.  I did find I slept better when we had the fan on, so I think I was getting overheated.  My nasal passages would also get inflamed every night, so I had to sleep propped up.  All in all, pretty minor in the scheme of things.

2.  I bet your family is thrilled!

They are indeed!  I’ll do a post about how we revealed to our parents in the coming weeks.

3.  How far along are you?

I’m officially 14 weeks along.  I’ve been to the doctor and seen the baby twice, which has been amazing.  I was waiting to see/hear the heartbeat at my 13 week appointment before I revealed, so my appointment last week was a huge relief.

Well, that’s the big news!  I can’t wait to blog about the pregnancy throughout…as a sidenote, I feel like EVERYONE is pregnant.  Raise your hand if you do NOT know someone who is pregnant, because I’m not sure such a person exists.
