Sometimes I hear stuff on the radio, tv, or see something in real life (or reality tv, there is a difference) and I think ’Really? Did I bring a child into this world?’ Not saying I don’t indulge in some of the crap, for example ABC’s the Bachelor/ette and if there’s a picture of Brangelina on the cover I’m buying that trashy magazine. But sometimes I gotta laugh and think that …continue…

Make your own Jellyfish light fixture
To go along with our Under the Sea nursery from Monday I found this tutorial from Paper & Ink to make your own jellyfish light fixture. Using a paper lantern from Ikea and tissue paper you can have a customized jellyfish for your Under the Sea nursery. I’d like to see this with a colored lantern too.
Brieanne’s Avocado
A few weekends ago Brieanne was over at our place and she took some photos of our little family that we shared in this post. I was able to capture the 16 week bump that was starting to take shape. At 16 weeks the bun in her oven is about the size of an avocado and growing quickly! Here are some shots from our shoot.
My Breastfeeding story (I warned you)
Becoming a mom isn’t an easy proposition. Some people have to go through hula-hoops just to get pregnant and when they do that’s when the fun starts. Nine months of weight gain, nausea, swelling, avoiding foods & drinks, people asking you if you’re having twins (and you’re not) . . . you get my drift. By the time you think you might actually be having twins you just want that …continue…
First Trimester Myths (sort of)
(Jessi’s first trimester bump) A few things you hear about being pregnant: “Myth” #1 Morning sickness: During the first trimester you’ll feel horrible, your sense of smell will be heightened and many things will make you nauseous, possibly throwing up constantly. Truth: Yes, many many women feel this way. However, around 20%-25% of women do not get morning sickness. I almost felt like something was wrong with me because I …continue…
Under the Sea Mood Board
A friend moved to a new and bigger home a few weeks ago and now that her youngest will have his own room I wanted to do a mood board for him. She was thinking ‘under the sea’ for her 8 month old boy and we have been in the mood for beachy/sea themes (with the mermaid nursery and the south pacific nursery) of late. So I thought why not …continue…
Happy Birthday, Conor!
Hey hey, it’s this little man’s birthday! Happy birthday to my nephew Conor, who turns the big 0-1 today! We celebrated with friends and family yesterday and let me just say–this boy loves his cake (well, I should expand that to food in general). I’ve seen a few first birthday cake demolitions, but never have I seen one as speedy as Conor’s. The cake never stood a chance… Happy birthday …continue…
Clowns. Scary or cute?
(image from futuregirl) So, I follow futuregirl, even though I don’t knit or sew really (although I’m trying to sew). I’m more of a paper crafter myself. But I came across this post last week and thought it was cute, then scary, then funny . . . I thought a monkey in a sweater, how cute. Then I saw the photo of the person wearing the clown sweater and I got …continue…
Homemade Goldfish crackers
Ever have a craving for goldfish crackers but don’t want to go all the way to the store to get a box? I found this post from Miss Anthropist’s Kitchen with a recipe to make your own goldfish crackers and even make the cookie cutter too. Since we don’t have soda cans usually (the material for the cookie cutter) I’m trying to figure out what I could use as an alternative material. …continue…
Happy Six Months, Jackson!
Eeeeks! How much do you want to just kiss those sweet little cheeks? He’s so cute I could eat him. Well, not literally of course (I typically frown on cannibalism) but you know when something is so cute you might explode? Okay, anyway. This precious little man is six months old and we took some family portraits to commemorate the occasion. How adorable are these three? Congratulations for making it …continue…
