A Few of My Favorite Things: Tiffany

I’ve been polling friends and family, asking about their favorite/most useful item during pregnancy, and also their most useful item for kids. This week, we have Tiffany whose is mom to Kyan and Sage! Here are her responses: Top Maternity Item: Tiffany spoke to one of the less-positive possible effects of pregnancy–unwanted hair.  Everyone wants to feel good about themselves, so her solution?  “Laser hair removal – I grew a …continue…

Little Sapling Toys

While wandering around Etsy, I stumbled across this adorable and clever line of toys from Little Sapling Toys. What beautiful woodwork, and what great subject matter! I’m a sucker for maps so these state teethers had me at hello, and I love them even more when reading up a little bit–they plant a tree for every toy sold! They have a bunch of great things, including puzzles, cars, and blocks! …continue…

Moody Monday: It’s a Boy!

My (husband’s) cousin Darren and his wife Lori are having a boy today! To celebrate their new addition I put together a baby boy inspired mood board.  I like to start with a piece of art to anchor the design. I adore this owl print from Green Frog Art.  It inspired the color palette for this nursery.  The Bla Bla toys have a classic charm and I thought Berry the …continue…

Get outside: Presidio Habitats

The sun is starting to peak out a bit more these days and once this spring fever hits, we all just want to be outside.  Head out to the Presidio to check out the Presidio Habitat Exhibition: A Site-Based Art Exhibition Celebrating Presidio Nature and Wildlife. The exhibit features eleven art installations located throughout the park.  The artists were instructed to design an installation with the animal as their “client”.  Pretty cool! …continue…

No caffeine? No problem.

I’ve been off caffeine for over a year now.  I gave it up for Lent, and then we found out we were pregnant, conveniently I didn’t have to go through caffeine withdrawals along with the nausea, exhaustion, sore boobs, and all that goes with the first trimester.  I didn’t find a good replacement though until I was at my baby shower in Seattle. My mom put on the shower at …continue…

Quick tip for new moms

I’ve never been the type to take hours, or more than 10 minutes and that’s for a night out, on my make-up routine.  As a new mom the time I want to spend on beautifying is even less than before.  However, I still want to look somewhat presentable when I go out for groceries or to the park.  Otherwise I look like a 15 year-old with a few grey hairs …continue…

Artwork Spotlight: Gallery Mar

I went to highschool with Maren — the owner of our featured gallery, Gallery Mar and on a road trip a few years ago with my husband and dog (oh those were the days — we were free to roam without thinking about diaper changes and the next feeding . . .) we stopped in to visit.  We were on our way back from Wyoming and Colorado and stopped off …continue…

Moody Monday: April showers bring May flowers

I came across this beautiful print on Etsy called “One of Those Days” and it inspired a rain and flower nursery design.  I have always loved the rain, listening to it, watching it fall, and walking in the rain (with proper rain gear, of course).  Growing up near Seattle I do enjoy those breaks in the rain when the flowers are still wet from a drizzle but the sun is …continue…

Rainy Day Play: Autobahn Tape

Autobahn Tape Kit and Race Car from Perpetual Kid April showers might bring May flowers but in the meantime what do the kiddos do? I would have created a highway system throughout the house with this stuff when I was a kid.  Couple this tape with the wood train set and a couple of barbie dream houses — I would have taken over the world! For $12.99 including the car it’s something …continue…
