Moody Monday: And the winner goes to . . .

In honor of the Oscars we put together a Hollywood nursery. I pushed the limit and tried an ice blue paint for a girlie nursery, but paired with a fuschia wall paper on one wall I think it is definitely all girl! A white laquer dresser, crisp white rocker, and antique white crib are complemented by the glitzy accessories. Add sparkly, metallic or ruffly pillows and gold accessories. If you …continue…

Our precious gift: Jackson’s Birth Announcement

Because of all we were going through leading up to Jackson’s birth I didn’t have time to prepare his birth announcement ahead of time, see yesterday’s post.  In the end it worked out because I was able to incorporate his birth date (and time) into the announcement.  We also included a moving announcement in the envelope. I wanted to create a card that felt more personal than what is available …continue…

Two months in — reflecting on the months before.

Happy two months to Jackson Riley! I finally got the baby announcements out a few weeks ago and it felt great to get that off of my plate.  I had every intention of designing the announcement and compiling all of the addresses before Jackson’s arrival — but we still don’t even have a nursery.  Life was a bit hectic, to say the least, in the last months before Jackson was …continue…

Bump Day: Erica @ 39 Weeks

Well, this is our last installment of Erica’s maternity photos! There will always be more Jackson, but this is it for Erica’s baby bump. These were taken a week and a half before she had Jackson, and about a week before her due date. Doesn’t she look incredible? And a little recap of Erica through the months…

Sustainable Wood Toys

(image courtesy of Automoblox and Cool Hunting) My husband sent me a link to an article on Cool Hunting as an idea to post here and I thought it was just perfect! They did a little roundup of some toys that are not only fun, but also teach skills and sustainability. Click the link below for the article. A Funny Story…

(image courtesy of Pancakes and French Fries) Happy Friday, everyone!  In honor of this crazy winter/summer/winter weather we seem to be having, I thought a summer vacation-related posted seemed appropriate. I love the blog Pancakes and French Fries. I don’t know Jules, but sometimes I feel like I do.  She’s so down-to-earth, honest, and funny.  She’s blunt about her awkwardness (every time I type awkward I think how awkward a …continue…

Lee Family Portraits, Part II

As promised, here is Part II of the Lee family portraits!  As a recap, I photographed this beautiful family last Saturday at Crissy Field in San Francisco.  Alisha is 39 weeks along with her second, and we spent a few hours hanging out at the beach capturing pictures of her and her growing family. We had to keep chasing the sun (it was setting and we kept getting caught in …continue…

Happy Baby Food

(image courtesy of Happy Baby Food) I received an email from my sister today.  It read “My new fave and love.  Happy Baby Food.  Safeway carries it, and both kids love them.”  Just thought I’d pass the suggestion along to all you parents out there! My sister posted a few more words on it, so you can go see what she has to say here.
